Born in London, AMANDA DE CADENET started working when she was a teenager at 15, interviewing people as the host of the British television music show, The Word, for five years. In 1992, soon after having her first child, she moved to Los Angeles and briefly pursued a film career. Thereafter, she spent the next fifteen years working as a photographer who specialized in portraits.

In 2012, she was back in front of the camera as the executive producer and host of the interview series, The Conversation, that featured bold conversations with female leaders and innovators, such as VP Kamala Harris, #MeTooFounder Tarana Burke, Hillary Clinton, Zoe Saldana, Jane Fonda, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga. In 2019, de Cadenet adapted her eponymous interview series The Conversation into a weekly podcast exclusively for Spotify that featured candid discussions on current event topics with female activists, writers, politicians, filmmakers, and feminists.

In 2016, de Cadenet launched Girlgaze a digital media company and job platform that connects female and non-binary creatives with brands who want to hire diverse creative teams. What began as a hashtag on social media has evolved to a roster of nearly 200,000 diverse creatives across the globe and over $2 million in paid income.

In June 2021, de Cadenet was announced as a founding member of the new Victoria’s Secret VS Collective alongside Naomi Osaka, Stella McCartney, Priyanka Chopra, Megan Rapinoe, Hailey Beiber, Bella Hadid, and others.

De Cadenet has been named one of “The 20 Most Creative People in Business” by Fast Company and “50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs” by Entrepreneur magazine.

De Cadenet lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
