NATASHA POLY - CR FASHION BOOK ISSUE 28 SPRING 2026
"I needed to cast the perfect model for this story. I immediately thought of Natasha Poly, who’s a model that not only Carine has championed, which made perfect sense as this was my first commission for CR Fashion Book, but also, someone that I’ve worked with since she started in the fasion industry. We both started working in the early 2000’s so she’s been ever present in my career. I actually don’t remember a time in fashion without her!
I loved the fitting pictures that I’d done with Natasha recently on photo shoots for French Vogue. Simple iPhone “polaroids” to document the clothes in order to write the on-page credits for the magazine. She just looks so cool with no hair and makeup standing backstage in the outfits. Having a hair and makeup team was again something that I wanted to forfeit in the pursuit of something very intimate with the smallest team possible.
So I spoke to Natasha, who was excited about the photo shoot and explained to her that I would have her do her own hair and makeup, and that there would only be a handful of us on set and that she’d be wearing these incredible Comme Des Garçons sculptures.” – Alastair McKimm
